Principal Leadership Team
Thomas K. Edwards
President & COOPrior to founding CIMA in 1996, Mr. Edwards developed an oil and gas marketing consulting business for Huddleston & Co Inc. Previously, he was a staff engineer with Huddleston and was promoted to manage the marketing of oil and gas from the company's partnerships. Mr. Edwards has published a number of papers and delivered presentations for the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He has served as guest lecturer for senior petroleum engineering courses covering oil and gas marketing at Texas A&M University. He is a petroleum engineering graduate of Texas A&M and attended the IPAA Executive Management Program of Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Michael D. Rupe
Executive Vice President & CFOMr. Rupe is a founding member of CIMA. Initially, Mr. Rupe served as chief financial officer and manager of Crude Oil Marketing. Today, he serves exclusively as CIMA’s Executive Vice President, CFO and is responsible for tracking all financial activity, monitoring all controls associated with trading and risk management, and maintaining all banking relationships. Previously, he was lead analyst in charge of research and evaluation for Business Development at Basis Petroleum Inc., a subsidiary of Salomon Inc. that was sold to Valero Energy Corporation in 1997. At Basis Petroleum, he was also a primary member of the budgeting team, responsible for evaluating and presenting financial results of the refinery business units and the corporate trading operations to the CEO and executive officers. Prior to joining Basis, he worked as an auditor in the energy division of the accounting firm Arthur Andersen. Mr. Rupe is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
